When you think you're at your worst, you'll fall again when you try to "climb up" by yourself.

When you're totally down and out. When you yield. That's when you see the beauty. :)

Just wanna share this song, "You know better than I". It's in the DreamWorks movie, "Joseph: King of Dreams".

Let the song speak, I know it will.

:)

Oops. Late with updates again. But anyways, I'll just summarise what Pst Kong shared last Saturday. It's about "slaying our Goliath(s) in our lives".

Who/What is our "Goliath" in life? The definition of "goliath" he gave was referred to as a gigantic, overwhelming power. This overwhelming power is holding on to something in your life and it must be defeated. In order to do so, you'll have to pick up 5 stones.

Pastor shared from the story of David and how he defeated Goliath. Thereafter, Goliath's 4 brothers wanted to avenge his death. So, these 5 stones will help you to slay your Goliath(s) in life.

5 decisions you need to make/5 stones you need to pick up.

1) Pick up the stone of the past - Referring to the lion and the bear that David had slain while he tended his father's sheeps.

2) Pick up the stone of prayer - Psalms 57:2, Psalms 27:8.

3) Pick up the stone of priority - 1 Sam 17:46-47 (knowing that God is top priority in life), Matthew 6:33

4) Pick up the stone of passion

5) Pick up the stone of persistence

I've shared to my best ability and I hope it helped, though I probably missed out on a few points.

So there you have it.. Past, prayer, priority, passion and persistence.

Sidenote, today's very interesting.. Indeed. :)

Catch y'all soon!

A start of a week and I really gotta fill my heart with expectancy soon. Past weekend was great! A great CG with Bro Darren and service with Pst Kong. :)

I'll share to my ability what I learnt and while I'm typing it out, I sure hope I can get more insights in the process.

To kick start!

Updates from Friday CG.

Fear is a learned response that keeps you alive but barely living.

A simple truth. For everyone of us out there trying to realise our dreams, we all fear when things go wrong. It's a basic human instinct and thought process to protect ourselves from harm's way. But it can lead to a life not lived to the fullest. A life that is not according to the destiny we have.

The very reason why we don't jump into a burning furnace..

You don't jump from such heights unless with proper safety gears..

Also the reason why we don't jump out of a perfectly working airplane without parachutes..

And if this happens, please think of another option.. A backup parachute, perhaps?

The above are logical fears that we have. In no way, should they be attempted without the proper gears, precautions and training. But what about our passions and dreams? When you're passionate about something, it'll be clearly visible by others around you. It'll be a general agreement that you're good at it!

On the other hand, the very reason why we fail to unleash our potential and pursue our passion is also because of FEAR. Fear of failing, making mistakes, being laughed or mocked at.. Worse still, being persecuted for trying to pursue your passions and dreams. I'm blessed to have gained better understanding on how fear works and how it can cripple a person.

From Genesis 3, we're all familiar with the fact that the fall of Man was due to the eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. This resulted in Adam and Eve to realise that they were both "naked". In this context, it means that they were "exposed to harm".

In verse 7, "Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loin coverings. "

God allowed Man to be "naked" because He originally purposed that we fix our eyes and focus upon Him no matter what happens. This is not the case after Adam and Eve ate from the tree. Instead, sin takes our eyes off God and set them upon ourselves. Because of sin, we perceive our inadequacy and weakness as a formidable force.

In 1Sam 17:11 - "Saul and all Israel heard these words of the Philistine (Goliath), they were dismayed and greatly afraid." Why was Saul, the first king chosen by God to be king over Israel, afraid? He should know that God is with him all the time.

In Joshua 1:4, God tells Joshua that He will be with him, just like how He was with Moses. Through verses 6 to 9, God repeated "Be strong and courageous" 3 times. From this, we know that God wants us to trust in Him and "be strong and courageous" to face fear. To know that God is with us, like how He was with Moses.

And in Isaiah 43:1-2, God says to fear not as He will be with us through the waters, rivers and even the fire. What a relief for all of us. :)

Lastly, 1 John 4:18..

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

God's love is perfect and we should not fear Him when we make mistakes. In this perfect love, fear does not exist. There is no punishment nor condemnation in this perfect love.

What is your passion and dream? Do you have a fear that is holding you back? Who and what can be against you when God is with you. In everything you do, remember that..

You're the apple of God's eye. :)

The familiar smell of burnt incense is here again. Here in Singapore, there are 2 occasions that call for such practice. One is 清明节 and the other will be the lunar 7th month's 鬼节.

I went to a 歌台 with my mum yesterday and it was really interesting. Being entertained by the jokes and mixture of Chinese & Hokkien songs. During part of the show, there was an announcement for the owner of a car that was parked in the church compounds next to the temple to move his vehicle out as they were closing the gates soon.

The emcee made a comment which really showed how good Singapore's social harmony is. She said, "如果你不把车开走,就连耶稣or大伯公都帮不了你了。所以,麻烦你尽快把车停在别的地方。ok?"

Let's all have a mutual respect for each other's religion and beliefs. Don't give an annoyed face when you see people burning incense and/or the ashes are flying all over. Try to keep remarks about how corny or cheesy a 歌台 is cos you don't know who you might offend. No, I'm not referring to ghosts/spirits but Real, Physical, Living Human Being. :)

Not that I'm feeling patriotic and all here but I suddenly feel that Singapore is such a colorful place. It's something that every country desires to have. And we have it right here. :)

Feeling tired and a lil sick again but.....

Tml's cellgroup will be AWESOME.

Back with more. Need rest........

I MIA'd again.. LOL!

Catching up with what happened since beginning of August is tough but I shall give it a try. :)

Just last week, I went to my cousin's place to help babysit his 4 kids, with the help of my mum and 大姨 of course. I didn't get to take pics with the other 3 boys though, I'll take some the next time I have the chance.

Anyways, the eldest boy's name is Issac. Followed by Jacob then Lucas. The youngest of all, Baby Adam, was asleep when I was there and so I took some pics. Presenting..... Baby Adam!

Baby Adam was smiling in his sleep actually. =D

Baby Adam : Don't disturb me.

Next up, I would have to say it's a blessing. I bought an iPhone case weeks ago and it had some manufacturing defects. It's from SwitchEasy and they are rather well-known for providing top notch customer service & support. And so, I decided to email them regarding my problem and they arranged for a free replacement without much questions asked. The reply I gotten was to ask for my address and that's it.

Days later, I received an email from FedEx informing of the tracking number of a package. Yup, it was the replacement case. A brand new one! Check out the 2 pics below. :)

So if you're a current/potential iPhone user, you may wanna consider SwitchEasy. Thumbs up for their customer service. :)

One last pic to end off the updates on my mind.. :)

Note: This is not a 自恋 attempt.

To officially end this post, CONGRATULATIONS to Zoe and Victor for finishing the SOT race on Saturday! I believe greater things will unfold in front of our very eyes.

Catch y'all real soon!

I found this meaningful passage while randomly surfing.

I don't want to be remembered as the guy who was good or bad at sports;
The guy who was physically strong or weak;
The guy who was good or bad looking;
The guy who was talented at one thing but definitely not in another;
The guy who was smart or dumb or even worse, average.

I want to remembered for the love that I gave;
For the friendships that I made;
For the caring and compassion that I showed towards others;
For the happiness that never seemed to go away
Which I shared with every person that I possibly could;
And for the faith and hope that never died inside...

So, how do you want to be remembered? What will you leave behind?
