Some updates for now. Will be back with more.

-> I've converted to part-timer status.

-> It feels like time is on my side now, but.. I don't know.

-> I was told that I lost weight. Looks like cardio and eating clean have paid off. Guess it's time to add in the weights and experience muscle fatigue.

In the meantime, I hope the below randomness will put a smile on your face.

It's been so long since I've worked night shift.

My nights are never the same without...

"Good Night, Good night! Parting is such sweet sorrow, that I shall say good night till it be morrow."

Good night, my beloved.

This is one of the reason why a spotter is needed. Mistakes are corrected and weights lifted with proper form. And should the worst happen, at least someone can help to get the bar with all the weights off your throat. :)

My throat's feeling better, voice is coming back. Good water intake really work wonders.

"Revenge of the Fallen" is out today and I'm loving acoustic version of different kind of songs, srsly. Listen to the acoustic version of "Knock you down" in my playlist too.

A dream of being part of an acoustic band has been reignited.

Bless me with a vision, Lord.

All the body aches after my routine, finally 2 weeks of basic conditioning is complete. Moving on to High-intensity interval training (HIIT) for cardio this coming week. Looking back when I started, my level of fitness really dipped like crazy. A 5mins medium paced jog would leave me totally 上气不接下气.

Now, I can go on a constant medium paced jog for 10mins around my estate. Likely to cover more distance but I'm not "chionging" to prevent possible muscle strains and cramps. I've always been prone to cramps in my legs though I've done proper warm ups.. :(

Okay.. I'm progressing to HIIT in the coming week, so I shall start somewhere relatively comfortable. The normal ratio of jog/sprint duration should be 2:1 (20 secs jog, 10 secs sprint). However, since I'm not seasoned for this yet, I'll be starting at a comfort point of 3:1 (30 secs jog, 10 secs sprint) to see if I can sustain for 15mins. I've already bought a budget digital watch to aid me in this too. If it's sustainable, I'll just hit the 2:1. :)

I found some info on HIIT on Wikipedia, and here it is.. Click here. I'm gonna try this out for 2 weeks like my conditioning phase and see how things go.

A short extract of an article I found regarding HIIT..

HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) is cardio performed at such an intense level that your body will spend the rest of the day expending energy to recover from the ass-kicking you gave it. This is commonly referred to as EPOC (excess post-exercise oxygen consumption) and it means that you consume a great deal more oxygen recovering from the exercise bout than you would have if you'd just done a steady-state workout.

This means that you will be burning up to nine times more fat while sitting on the couch later that night than you would have if you'd spent an hour on the treadmill at a moderate pace.

Obviously, I am talking about intense training. You will need to push yourself out of that comfort zone you have gotten used to and really challenge yourself. If you are willing to do this, however, I can guarantee that you will spend less than half the time you usually do on those machines and get much leaner in the process.

Reminder, however hard you work during HIIT, keep your diet in mind too. :) If not, your efforts are all for naught.

Be back again with another update on my first attempt at HIIT.

A great Saturday! :)

Father's Day service really brought down and made the love of our Heavenly Father so tangible.

God is like our earthly parents. He has "insurance plans" for us. When the time is right, it'll mature and we will be blessed according to what we can sustain.

Yes, we may make prayer requests. But when it seems like it's been turned down, it doesn't mean that God is angry or ignoring us. There's a time for everything.

There are examples of hoping to receive something over the years of birthdays but you still didn't get what you wished for. Like a new toy, a bag or even a bicycle for night cycling. Pastor Tan used his own childhood experience to illustrate this point. He finally understood the reason when he became a father. He said if his child asks for a bicycle for night cycling, he'll reject just like his own father did, when he was young. Because he now understands that his father was trying to protect him from the possible dangers of going night cycling. And this is precisely how God reacts as a Heavenly Father, to protect us.

I did some searching and found an interesting read. Sure is encouraging. :)

In Habakkuk 2:3 (NKJV)..

For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.

God is never late, He is seldom early, He is always right on time.

In summary, we set human deadlines and God ignores them for at least four reasons :

1. To increase our faith
2. To increase our vision
3. To increase our testimony
4. To increase our compassion

If you're curious about where I found this interesting read, feel free to visit HERE.

Good night everyone and have a blessed Sunday.

Happy Father's Day.

A great day!

Had a good brunch with Baby and we went ahead with my plans to have a lil excursion trip off Singapore mainland.

Some people may laugh. But today was my first time setting foot on St. John's Island after my 23 years in Singapore. And the journey took a good 30mins from Marina South Pier. After a 15 minutes stay at St. John's Island, the ferry left for Kusu Island. This time round, it was Baby's first visit to Kusu Island.

Both islands are good for picnics. But Kusu Island is very very good for a picnic, IF the weather is kind enough to be cloudy like today. The trees there are all planted and spaced out evenly for a hammock to be set up between each of them. However, I do not know if the authorities allow it. And please bear in mind the peak period of Kusu Island too. According to my mum, it's the lunar 9th month that will attract of devotees to pray there. So any other time besides that, it'll be good. :)

Some pics from St John's Island and Kusu Island today..

Upon arrival..

That's all for now, folks. Some pics are awaiting to be edited and given the green light to be uploaded. Got strict QC implemented. :)

Feeling some weird giddiness since I came back.. Gonna rest early.

Be back again soon. :)

Watched "Drag Me to Hell" @ JP just now, and I would have to admit it's really a comedy-horror film.

Seriously, a sacrificial goat that talks when the "spirit" possessed it? And a housefly going in on the left nostril and coming out on the right? Forcing its way into your mouth while you're asleep? Days later, you cough real hard after choking on some food and it flies out. It's really hilarious.

Those who are courageous enough to overlook the horror part really should watch. Or if you have the way not to watch in the cinema, then feel free to. :)

Service was terrific with all the testimonies from the celebs. It was really encouraging to hear and understand that they have been through their valleys and darkest times and God came through for them, brought them to even greater heights.

If God can do it for them, God can do it for us. The weekend service has taught me to look forward, to the future that God has planned for me. I believe God will open the doors that will bring me to my destiny. I shall march on..

Don't wanna walk this road alone
Cause I know You are
The best of me

And I won't do it on my own
Cause in You
I found my destiny

The road is long
The valley's deep
The ocean's wide
In front of me

But God saved the day
Jesus You're the way
The truth, the light, the hope for all mankind

And yester-night was a good evening out for good with the cellgroup. Although the schedule was held back due to the celebrity weekend, but it was still enjoyable nonetheless. The planned route for Hungry-Go-Where was supposed to be 3 destinations but it was shortened due to time constraint. But kudos to organisers, the buses that were catered were able to ferry us back to our area where we live. Very thoughtful. :) And fortunately, the bus driver uncle lives near Boon Lay area and we managed to hitch a ride even nearer to home for some of us. Blessed!

After yester-night, I now know where exactly Bedok 85 is. I've passed it like so many times before but I didn't know it was where all the good foods were hidden. I remember those long bus trips taken with Deb Dear during secondary school days actually passes there. Ok, now I'm enlightened.

I'm looking forward to another chance to return back to Bedok 85 to try the 肉脞面. No 猪肝, more 肉脞 and more 醋. :)

Thereafter, we went go Old Airport Road hawker center as the last stop. The 云吞面 was a long wait. I was told of a 15mins of waiting time when I was checking out the stall and so, I gave it a pass. Looking for another chance to try the food there too. I got a cup of Soursop drink from this uncle there, he was really nice. Gave me alot of the Soursop flesh with the drink. Blessed x 2!

Back to work tomorrow, and I'll be back soon. Have a great week ahead. :)
